Role of Safeguarding Trainers

To promote child safeguarding by:

  • Working with the safeguarding committee to identify training needs;
  • Delivering full-day and information-session safeguarding training to those identified by the safeguarding .
  • Keeping records of all of those who have been trained;
  • Contributing to upholding the seven standards in practice and behaviour.

Ms Loraine Byrne has been appointed as lead trainer. She will lead a team of trainers who will provide training and support across the diocese.

Ms Clare McEntee and Ms Barbara Mulvihill have recently completed training for this role and two additional trainers will undertake training in the current year.
