Introduction
The NBSCCCI has revised the Safeguarding Children: Standards and Guidance document and developed a ‘one Church’ safeguarding policy statement. The Diocese of Meath has signed up to this policy and has developed these operational guidelines to assist Church personnel in implementing the policy and revised standards.
All Church personnel (clergy, volunteers and staff) are required to adhere to the standards.

All case management files and safeguarding records in the Diocese of Meath will be retained for a period of 100 years; all other records pertaining to safeguarding will be stored for a period of 20 years. Destruction of data will be carried out in a secure manner.
